Pool Parties

What a summer  for pool parties.  We've only been to the beach once and haven't made it out to the Hamptons or Martha's Vineyard this year.  The boys have been pool partying almost every week and sometimes a few times a week since the July 4th weekend.  When I was a kid I didn't have a pool or have close friends with a pool.  These kids have it made!

Last year we pool hopped exploring different Dept. of Parks and Recreation pools and playgrounds in the city.  They took swim lessons in the mornings at Liberty Pool in Queens.  Last year the mornings were a lot cooler so the pool water was almost always cold.  We had camp M.A.U.D. running for the entire summer and the kids had a blast.  This year being pregnant has taken a toll on our camp.   We don't get around as much but it is still great fun.  The kids spend most of the time in the pool or in the water, gardening, arts and crafts and only one guaranteed weekly trip to a museum, farm, movie or other cultural activity.  We still have Chinese on Saturday but we work around Dr. appointments and sonograms.  Next year we were thinking of possibly hiring more staff or coordinating with another family to have at least 2 main venues.

Anyway the highlight of the summer has been water, water, water.  From staying hydrated to pool fun.  We have gone to so many pool parties this summer that I can't believe it.  I was amazed at some of the pools I saw on Shine.  They did a report on The World's Most Spectacular Pools.  I'd love to visit each of these pools.  We are planning a party at White Post Farms. in Melville, for the boys.  They have bouncers and slides both with water and dry and of course animals and sand.  We'll update you on that later.  Until then I may put on a swimsuit and join the boys.  (After a nap:-)
