Family. What does this mean?

People who share the same close genetic biology seem to be called family. But I've observed that family transcends genetics; like when people adopt, or a stranger to the group gets taken in for shelter, and when acts of kindness from one human being to another  just occur.

I've seen direct genetic biologics spurn even their helpless progeny offspring infants. Witnessed genome siblings avoid each other for decades over nothing. Endured watching a father turn his back on his son because of  a difference of sexual preference.

Family transcends genetics, family transcends humanity. In supernatural godlike fashion, family heals, nurtures and create healthy societies for all humanity, for all earthlings, for all.

We are all more closely related than we care to admit, so, hug a human today, you'll be glad you did.
